The broad spectrum antimycotic Amykon® for skin fungus is launched for the treatment of cutaneous fungus.

Engelhard commits itself to improving adolescent medical care and initiates the project "Jugend in der Praxis".

A new, modern production plant and multi-shelf warehouse are built in Niederdorfelden in the Main-Kinzig district.

By taking part in the project "Pädialog", Engelhard Arzneimittel becomes active in primary prevention and health education.
1995
Together with universities and hospitals, Engelhard carries out basis research into the pharmaceutical plant ivy. Prospan becomes a rational phytopharmaceutical.

Zanzarin, a herbal insect repellent, is launched. The biological product is also suitable for infants and small children and works in a similar way to chemical products.

Prospan Cough Syrup is developed internally. This administration form is a major milestone for expanding business in the home market as well as abroad.

Co-founder of the organisation "Kinder brauchen Luft zum Leben" e.V., an action group for supporting children suffering from respiratory tract disease. At present, the organisation primarily supports ambulant asthma training centres, which offer affected children and their relatives various behaviour courses.

The Engelhard range of products is launched in Malta, Cyprus as well as the Middle East, i.e. Bahrain, Oman and Qatar and the Far East (Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand).

Trachisan Lozenges are launched. Apart from tyrothricin, they also contain the active substances chlorhexidine and lignocaine. This combination has anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects.

The Engelhard products are now also represented by Prospan in Austria, by Trachitol in the Netherlands and by Dialon in Sweden and Switzerland.
1959
The local antibiotic Tyrosur is launched, for the treatment of infected wounds as well as for wounds in danger of becoming infected. The ointment, which contains the active substance tyrothricin, was also developed by Engelhard.
1950
Engelhard Arzneimittel develops Prospan Cough Drops, a herbal medicine for the treatment of bronchial illnesses.
1949
The penicillin preparations are amongst the most significant products to be launched in the years to follow. As one of the first pharmaceutical manufacturers in Germany, Engelhard develops preparations for the local and oral treatment of infectious diseases from the antibiotic discovered by Fleming. These medicines are soon to be exported abroad.
1947
The company is rebuilt after having been completely destroyed in the 2nd World War.
1930
The baby dusting powder Dialon, developed back in 1866, gains in popularity abroad. The "powder according to formula" is sold in modern shakers. Environmentally friendly refill pouches are available, even at this time. Dialon is exported to China and the U.S.A..
1872
Karl Philipp Engelhard establishes the "Fabrik Pharmazeutischer Präparate". Inspired by his stays in France and England, he developed a special mechanical press for making tablets. Engelhard is thus one of the co-founders of the German pharmaceutical industry. Export trade also increases through the mechanical production of medicines.
1860
Isla Moos Paste, or Isla-Moos Herbal Lozenges as they are known today, is the first finished medicine to be developed in Germany by the future company founder Karl Philipp Engelhard in his own chemist's shop, the Rose Pharmacy. Within a short time, the preparation for cough and hoarseness is exported to Raciborz, Amsterdam and Savoy.
